If you are distressing over the U.S. presidential election, do not give up!!! The electoral college does not meet until December 19 and if enough delegates can be persuaded to vote for Hillary instead of Trump, she can be declared the winner. Please read the three links below and sign the petition, then Tweet, Facebook and email this to everyone you know.
(The petition is printed below so you can read it directly, but I’m giving a link as well, to get to the actual petition and sign it. If you’re reading the petition from a Mexican IP address, it seems to appear in Spanish. I and my tech guy can’t seem to fix that.)
A petition to the U.S. Electoral College HERE.
And a justification for the possibility HERE.
And a reminder of what Trump said just 4 years ago HERE.
On December 19, the Electors of the Electoral College will cast their ballots. If they all vote the way their states voted, Donald Trump will win. However, they can vote for Hillary Clinton if they choose. Even in states where that is not allowed, their vote would still be counted, they would simply pay a small fine – which we can be sure Clinton supporters will be glad to pay!
We are calling on the Electors to ignore their states’ votes and cast their ballots for Secretary Clinton. Why?
Mr. Trump is unfit to serve. His scapegoating of so many Americans, and his impulsivity, bullying, lying, admitted history of sexual assault, and utter lack of experience make him a danger to the Republic.
Secretary Clinton WON THE POPULAR VOTE and should be President.
Hillary won the popular vote. The only reason Trump “won” is because of the Electoral College.
But the Electoral College can actually give the White House to either candidate. So why not use this most undemocratic of our institutions to ensure a democratic result?
SHE WON THE POPULAR VOTE.
There is no reason Trump should be President.
“It’s the ‘People’s Will'”
No. She won the popular vote.
“Our system of government under our Constitution says he wins”
No. Our Constitution says the Electors choose.
“Too many states prohibit ‘Faithless Electors'”
24 states bind electors. If electors vote against their party, they usually pay a fine. And people get mad. But they can vote however they want and there is no legal means to stop them in most states.
PLEASE SIGN AND SHARE! A petition to the U.S. Electoral College HERE.

It’s an interesting idea, and I would agree if there was a small gap. As of this evening, there is a gap of almost 60 votes between the predictions for the two candidates. The total votes are 538, of which 60 would need to be convinced to change their votes. I’d also wonder what would happen if the EC did not vote as currently scheduled, and conclude that it would not be worth the ire of one Mr. Trump. Much as I am sad/angry about the results as they stand, I think this might be a more dangerous attempt that it’s worth.

Pretty scary to be that frightened of one’s “President elect.”

Perhaps only a partially expressed thought last night as I was getting sleepy — it’s not so much that I’m afraid of Trump himself, but if the election were suddenly reversed by such a move, it would likely trigger at least two things: a) more violent protests than we already have, and, b) with a Republican Congress behind him, a complete gridlock for the next 4 or more years. I don’t think the country can afford either at this juncture.

I think this is the very definition of “tilting at windmills” but it’s worth registering a protest.

As big as a disaster that Mr. Trump is. It’s not the catastrophe that Ms. Clinton would have been.
As usual, I left a comment to the post; here …. https://okcforgottenman.wordpress.com/2016/11/10/heres-an-interesting-quixotic-idea-about-how-to-change-the-results-of-the-2016-u-s-presidential-election/comment-page-1/#comment-479
For myself the notion that the American Democratic Party represents the ordinary joe in the world of politics in U.S.A. is now erroneous, for me.
Personally, I do not want government to be mandating everything. Guns are nasty dangerous things. Yet if only the police have them? It instantly becomes a police state. Bailing out banks who in their greed, fuelled the mortgage crisis of 2008, fixing the LIBOR and other mis-deeds. Becomes an albatross around government necks. For the trust, of and by the people, is lost.
Like the Brexit vote. This is probably not about bigotry or exclusion? More about this big government making decisions on what should be a decisions made by us, the people.
Cheers Jamie.
