I thought exactly the same thing..It is a beautiful tree, but gets so big that you can really only see the blooms and berry clusters from afar. This one was still a bush so it was fun to see them close up.
The leaves are familiar. I can’t quite place them. We grow something very like it along the highways up here, but of course, it’s probably not the same plant since the climate is so different. If I can remember the name, I’ll look it up. Related, I think, to rhododendron, but not them. Cousins.
I have no clue either, but it is gorgeous. 😀

The leaves look somewhat like a schefflera, but goodness knows what it is actually! Hope you can discover the name.
