You have no idea how many times he’s helped me. Did you read the post where I described how he found my camera stolen in Ajijic Mexico–from Missouri, where he lives? It was amazing. And he’s the one who found the article where my stats were compared to Donald Trump’s and also a critique of one of my poems in a New Delhi Sunday Newspaper Supplement. He’s amazing. Not to mention catching all of my unclosed parentheses and it’s its errors. Some good Karma was happening the day I met him online.
I’ve looked and looked for it. In an email on April 26, 2016 I mention posting it, but can’t find it. Sheesh. I’ve put forgottenman on the recovery detail. If he can’t find it, no one can.
He also instructed me that your pen name is slmret, not simret. My vision is so poor that they look exactly the same to me. I’ve always thought of you as simret!!! Sheesh. Still can’t see the difference.

As to my name — I started this blog on Xanga shortly after I had retired from Sallie Mae (Wall Street call letters SLM), and slmret was a good way of making it anonymously mine. It didn’t take too long for me to be a bit more open and use my first name on line as well, but the slmret moniker has stuck. I do understand about not being able to differentiate between ‘l’ and ‘i’ — I have the same problem quite often these days!
So luckily back when I didn’t know your first name, you didn’t even notice I was calling you simret??? Ha!! When okcfm skyped me that “It is slmret, not simret.” I teased him that he’d typed the same think twice–exactly as I’d spelled it! It took a lot of convincing that he hadn’t.
I didn’t notice — but you would have had a hard time finding me with it spelled the wrong way! It just added to the anonymity — lol ! I’m glad, though, that okcfm’s eyes are better than yours or mine, and that you now know the rest of that story!!
