Be sure at the very least to click on the photo of Sandy in the turquoise shirt to see the bonus view in the mirror.
Matt wants to know what we are going to do with all the leftover turkey. In past years, I’ve used it to make turkey and dressing and cranberry sandwiches. Yum. When we were young, we made them on my mom’s rolls–made extra large for this express purpose. This year, however, I went to a restaurant with five friends. The meal was the traditional turkey, dressing, potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes and cranberry sauce, but the salad and desserts were works of art. The dessert was pumpkin pie, a pumpkin swirl cake and a pumpkin puree with raspberry sauce. Followed by an amaretto foamy iced drink that was to die for. Love the photo of Sandy that somehow captured all of our reactions in the mirror. That was good fortune, not planned.
For Daily Inkling.
Lovely pictures, especially the mirror scene

If I had tried to plan that, I never would have succeeded. Blind chance is the benefactor of photographers.

I love leftovers, but not having to wash the dishes is good too.

Same for me. I bought a pumpkin pie that I shared with a neighbor, Pasiano and Yolanda the day before Thanksgiving, so I had the last piece last night. So, leftovers of a sort.

And it was. Moist and flavorful. So often desserts look good but aren’t. This one broke that rule.

Looks like you had a blast, and the mirror photo is amazing. What’s in that amaretto drink? Curious cats want to know!

I don’t know but it tastes like eggnog, nutmeg ice and some other liquid –perhaps carbonate water blended to a froth. I didn’t pick up the amaretto but it had a wonderful flavor. It may have had rompope in it,which tastes like eggnog. Since after I drank it, someone said there was a menu and that’s were it said it was an amaretto drink. I’ll try to duplicate and tell you what I did.

Eggnog with cognac is Russian gogol-mogol. It has no connection to any holidays, though, but Shalyapin (the famous opera basso profundo) is reputed to have drunk it before performances.
