Bob from the Love Will Bring Us Together blog identified this plant for me. Here is his information:
Holmskioldia Sanguinea Retz commonly called the Chinese hat plant, cup-and-saucer-plant or Mandarin’s hat!. It’s a member of the Mint family ( Lamiaceae ) and is the only species in the genus Holmskioldia!

See Bob’s blog HERE and if you have a plant you can’t identify, he has a section of his blog to report it in and he’s a super plant sleuth. I’ve never found one he couldn’t identify.
You have the most remarkable plants. I can’t even begin to look them up!

Awww Shucks! 😊
It’s a very nice ( and rare these days) feeling to be appreciated for what you do or are. 🙂 Thank you Judy.
I have a Top-Secret background… i come from a need-to-know basis… that is I have a strong need to find the answers to all kinds of things! 😉
Glad i could help!

And I have a deep need to have questions answered..I think it comes from having the writing gene–inbuilt curiosity.

I hope you are no relation to the cat…??? 😉
Other than being able to land on your feet of course! 🙂

Yesterday I landed on my knee, but no permanent injuries. I seem to be accident-prone recently. A stabbed thumb, a cut finger, a broken tooth and now a skinned knee all within a 24 hour period. Definitely I lack the grace of a cat.

Great title. I actually have in the past known what it was but my memory is going the way of my waistline…
