I don’t know what creates these incredible patterns on this palm tree, but I am fascinated by them. I think this one looks like a Chinese scene of people passing. (Click on photos to enlarge.) I’d be interested to hear what figures you see in the tree.

How interesting — looks like some kind of bug got under the tree’s skin! I don’t see specific figures, but it does look like some of the tattoos of the indigenous peoples of the South Pacific.

I thought the same thing.. plus machetes stuck in it and then pulled out and healed over.

When the men trim my palm trees they often just store their machete by slicing it into the palm trunk to keep it off the ground. It makes these interesting slash marks when the trunk heals over.
