Changes
All those natural places that soothe us with their peace,
their beauty and their silence offer us release
until some pugnacious tourist rips the scene apart,
instilling angst and turmoil where formerly was heart.
Word prompts for the day are pugnacious, tourist, natural and peace.
Ugh. People can be such bad actors.

Isn’t that the truth.

My only hope is seeing people doing cleanups!

And I have seen these efforts here as well. Busloads of young people come from Guad and clean up the lakeside. If only the people from Guad who leave the lakeside garbage-strewn every weekend had the same sensibility as the kids who come to pick it up!

When Joe lived east of Ajijic before he met you, we walked many times at dusk into the dry bed of Lake Chapalla. At once serene, egrets flew silently in line for their night roost, cows munched contentedly on vegetation, and the sunset anointed the surroundings golden. Timeless.

I walked every morning for two hours on the lakebed, over a few years time we covered every inch of the shoreline from Jocotepec to Chapala. At first I walked alone, then with Anadelia, Pasiano’s daughter, then Diane Pearl joined us. Joe and I found Panda when we were walking on the lakeside below his house.. and we actually found Frida walking along the carretera on our way back from a walk. Untold riches.

Lovely photos, all but the last one that drives me mad! The only ones who benefited from Covid and shortage of tourists are marine creatures of Biscayne Bay.

We have to look at the whole picture or we’d go crazy, Dolly.

Very true, but water of Biscayne Bay littered with plastic and styrofoam is one of the issues I feel very strongly about.

Me, too. What is the answer? Not for the world. I think I know what the world solution is, but I mean individually? It’s impossible not to consume plastic. But I guess we could put more thought into what products we buy.

The solution is not to toss garbage overboard, but have a trash can or bag on board. Also, fish don’t like pizza and the rest of human food; it’s poison for them. Sorry, I don’t want to get started on this rant!

I agree completely and had furthered your rave and then realized I didn’t want to get into this conversation either. Rest assured, I feel as you do all the way.
