As I was rushing out the door to meet the plumber, I caught sight of this tiny guy and had to unlock the door and go back in and get my camera. Luckily, he was still there when I came back. He was no more than two inches long and a good subject. He maintained his pose with a naturally grumpy look on his face!
Cute little guy (if it’s not a girl).

I know. I got tired of he/sheing it. I’m pretty sure he was a boy. He just had that masculine look about him.

It’s hard to say with lizards until they start courting, and this little creature is too young for it.

So how can you tell the difference while courting? Have you observed this? Is there a certain courtship ritual as in birds?

Boy lizards court by inflating a bright red bubble under their jaw. Until they grow this bubble, they are still immature. We see that all the time. I wish it were this easy to recognize immature people.

Ha. I can help you with that. They usually sport MAGA buttons, t-shirts or baseball caps.

Ha! Perfect. Good for him. Wouldn’t want any little Trumpers zipping around my house.

He was actually going to the house of a neighbor. I was showing him the way and opening up the house for him..
