As I drew nearer, I discovered that it was a very large piece of driftwood that someone had added split dried palm branches to to form the “comb.”

I know. I do a double take every time I see it and love how it looked like it was imitating the people in the pictures. I enjoyed talking to its creator as well, even though he spoke only French. I spoke Spanish to him and he understood it more than English. His friend then stepped in as he spoke some English…I love these chance encounters with people. Best part of traveling.
