What a strange coincidence~! MY house is positioned in such a way that the moon, this time of the year lights up my bedroom through a little window high up in the peak of the ceiling. Last night I looked out and the moon was so very bright that you could see the outside almost as bright as day. Not a cloud in the bright very hot night sky. So I slipped on my shoes and Tami and I went outside in the heat to get a better view of it.

We stirred up a deer that was getting water and she barked at it, but did not chase it..(Thank goodness because her chasing through the tall spent flower buds would mean that I would need to be picking stickers off or her for another hour at midnight, so I stopped that by having her leash on her.. Sorry I did not take pictures, but the time was similar to when you were looking at the same moon in a far away place, under much different conditions.

I did not know that you were back home, but now I do. Welcome home. and thanks for sharing thee moon with me, so differently.

As hot as it is here the only time we can get out is early in the morning, or very late at night. Though Tami has the run of the place, she too has been staying inside. She gets her leash and throws it at me, which tells me that it it for me to “take MY walk, and though I do not attach the leash, we take a late night walk. That bright moon made it a nice walk last night. She has certain trees that she has been trained to back up to,, so those walks become important to her… Her favorite “spot” is near my main gate, about 1/4 mile from the house~! and I think it is like a “leave a note” place from other dogs passing by.

So did the rainy season finally get there~? I have lost a lot of trees and flowers from no rain in 115 heat for almost three months now. A hard freeze last winter and this hot summer makes my place look like it is returning to nothingness, but I have been spending an hour or so in cleaning our my koi pond while it is dry~! This has not been done in about 15 years~! Happy August~!
