From 1994: “What IS the Internet, anyway?”

Hello, LifeLessons readers, ForgottenMan here yet again.

While Judy and company continue their “writing intensive”, she found this old video circulating again, so she asked me to post it here. It never gets old.

We amateur radio operators used the @ sign for our packet radio when the Internet was still classified by the government. Before that we used @ on FidoNet, thousands of hobbyist carrying mail around the world on their personal computers and phone lines. I accessed it through a phone number. Used to chat with a fellow in China. It generally took a week for a response and cost only 35 cents and all on an 8-bite machine. You can Google FidoNet. It’s still alive and well. I could go on and on about this. YouTube is crammed with info.
