Ten women including Judy Reeves as the workshop director. Fabulous writing. Fabulous time. An hour after this picture was taken, six of us were up on the bandstand backing up the guitar player/singer. Yes, I was up there with them, but I’m behind the camera in this shot!!!
Beach Writing Retreat, November 2014: Ten of us spend 3 days together writing, critiquing, learning, growing. (Eating, swimming, dancing, laughing, walking, listening, singing.)
Tomorrow, we’ll add shopping to the list as we take an hour or two off to go to the great outdoor weekly market.

What powers of observation. That is, indeed, the purse my sister Patti gave me eight years ago that has been my faithful companion ever since. Like a “filler” at the Oscars, it slipped into my seat lest it look empty for the cameras. (Trivia: Did you know that there are people at the Oscars who do this? They are there just to occupy empty seats when attendees vacate them to go for a bathroom break or a smoke or whatever task they may need to leave their seats to perform, lest the cameras esply a gap in the crowd.)

It really was, Teresa. This was as nearly a perfect time as I’ve ever experienced. A wonderfully synched group and really powerful writing was the result. Stay tuned for more information on a new women’s anothology that we are going to be accepting submissions for soon.
