What’s for Dessert?

Now that we’ve finished our gnocchi italiano recipe, LRose has suggested we do dessert.  This time I’m going to let someone else suggest the first ingredient. Each person thereafter can add an ingredient and preparations as they see fit.  These illustrations are for decoration only. In no way are they meant to influence your choice of ingredients. Okay, who is game to describe the first ingredient for our collaborative dessert recipe?

    I use the cheesecake recipe from the Philidelphia cream cheese package. Otherwise, I made really splendid bread pudding from a New Orleans recipe — except I don’t make it anymore because it caused one guest to go into diabetic shock — and really good ginger snaps. We don’t much eat dessert, unless someone is having a birthday … but I so admire the art of dessert. My favorite dessert in the world? Creme brulee. I never learned how to make it, but it’s worth a trip to New Orleans just to eat the good stuff.

      Okay, Marilyn–so we have poached and “skinned” peaches (or was it nectarines? Can’t see the recipe suggested by LRose) stuffed with raspberries. What do we do next?

    Let’s get the obvious ingredient out of the way as a given: sugar. From there, let’s move onto white nectarines and raspberries…

      Clean and disinfect the raspberries. Drain and sprinkle with sugar. Put the nectarines in boiling water until they loosen from the skin. Then pull away the skin of each, make a slit in one side only and work out the pit. Fill the cavity with raspberries, compacting to fit in as many as possible. Next chef!!! What do we do next??

    Well, it’s a good thing I looked up “frise” lol. Um… Would we be considering white chocolate pudding (or Bavarian cream)? Does that need to set up first? Please know I’m drooling all over the keyboard and may blow up my tablet before the next post…
