Mostly Hidden Words (“7 Words 2 Inspire” Challenge)
The assignment is to write a post using all or some of seven given words. The seven words I’m supposed to use in my post are: stampede,
catapult
, latrine,
mud-wrestling
, arsenic, stomp and
bratwurst. I am taking a different slant on the assignment, as you’ll see below.
Disclaimer: A friend suggested I wait until tomorrow to post this in case I might want to change my mind, but although I know it is really stupid, it was hard to do, so damn it, I’m posting it!
It’s Tom Pryor’s arse nicely placed in a chair
purloined from the cat. A pultrudinous* flair
is seen in his body from toes to his hair.
And equally graceful are all of his actions
stamped everywhere in his daily reactions.
Hell, Atrinet** solved all his internet woes,
so see how his life now so easily flows?
His mud-wrestling days I fear didn’t last.
Nor did bratwurst remain his favorite repast!
*pultrudinous–another way of saying beautiful, gorgeous or down right naturally sexy.
**Atrinet is a global provider of advanced network management solutions, network service orchestration products and services for telecom service providers.

Very clever, Judy!!

I hate doing this Judy but ‘pultrudinous’ – unless the American version of the word – is incorrectly spelled. It should be pulchritudinous ( from the latin pulchra meaning beauty). If Dan Webster absolves you I apologise for my intrusion . But it’s a great way of answering the prompt! 🙂 Anton

Oh, oh. I’ll check it out. Great to hear from you…I’ve been wondering where you are! Was about to write to see how you are.

Actually, I just Googled the syllable, knowing I needed a word that began with those letters. This is what showed up, so I used it. I knew of the word pulchitrudinous, but thought this was a different word I’d never heard of and jumped on it since it was the only one that showed up. Might be their error, as the Interweb is famous for its misinformation as well as information! See quote as I received it, below:
Urban Dictionary: pultrudinous
another way of saying beautiful, gorgeous or down right naturally sexy.
Examples: Whoa, she is definitely pultrudinous
That snowfall was so pultrudinous.
Since I have no other choice, I’ll let it stand, mistake or no and it will be our little secret (and anyone’s who reads this comment) that I am in truth not infallible. Thanks for reading and commenting. xo J

After more research, I have found that pultrusion is actually a manufacturing method–” a continuous process for manufacture of composite materials with constant cross-section,” so I imagine its definition in the Urban Dictionary was a mistake. Don’t know how closely they research submissions. Shame on me for not checking further but it was about 2 a.m. and I was jumping on chances to continue my ridiculous technique. Never could find possibilities for the last two words. Just a game. I cheated! Ha.

Well, it is nice to have a little praise for the first thing I’ve been sort of embarrassed to post on my blog. Thanks, Swoosieque!

Even though as my friend Anton tells me, I used a word that is not a word. Ha. Perhaps it will soon be a word and I am ahead of my time. I did find it in an online Urban Dictionary so perhaps I am just too hep for words!!!!

I noticed that, since a friend of mine titled a story after that when it was the Word of the Day. I say poetry is what you make it, and you were being creative. I’m in agreement – you are too hep for words! 😀

Ha. Afraid I wasn’t even hep when it was hep to be hep, but I will accept all the positive labels offered, Jennis! Muchas gracias.
