Why I do not Ham on Rye it
You cannot borrow steal or buy it.
Sumo wrestlers never try it.
Female starlets do or die it.
Vitamin makers fortify it
You never cookie, cake or pie it.
Pizza parlors terrify it.
Now and then I me oh my it,
but I hope I don’t defy it,
for if I ever hope to guy it,
I simply must stay on my diet!

I could belly up to that table.

Ha. You mean the “Do not consume” table?

Well, it depends on the hunger factor. I remember the army sergeant sharing the westbound Portland Rose, some 40 years ago. He was so hungry he told the porter he was ready to devour the seat cover.

Would you believe I was sitting within reaching distance of that table for the entire performance and intermission and I didn’t have one bite from it? I was appreciating the dessert with the strawberries and kiwis made into a tulip design. So clever. Hadn’t notice that before, but I didn’t let myself look very closely at it! Hungry now, though!!!

Were Ms. Gallbladder less an acter-upper, I would talk both her and you into having tiny slivers of everything on that table. EVERYTHING!!

Except it was for sale so they might not have appreciated our taking tiny bits of everything. I had my gallbladder out 24 years ago, so no Ms. Gallbladder censoring me. Just mobility, comfort and vanity!!!

“Diet” has got to be the ugliest word in history. Although those you boldly proclaim “lifestyle change” don’t assist me much either? Isn’t there a magical way to accomplish this task?

Not without getting ill, and when that happens, we would give good money to have some of that weight back…In the end, trite as it sounds, good health is all!

There is a diet with an all you can eat for one hour a day rule in it. All protein no carbs kinda crap, don’t remember the name. It worked well for one of our daughter, for awhile, surprise, huh?
I have my own diet rule, all I can eat for an hour. That takes care of dinner and it gets me to breakfast.
Sumo world look out, here I come!

How can you resist it?

Poetic license. I’m not that fond of Rye bread, but it rhymes!!! I find it hard to resist bolillos and potatoes and dessert…Sign..I’m doing well, though. I’ve lost 28 lbs. since June 8 when I returned from the states—where I regained what I’d lost before.

Love your poetic lament. 🙂 I’m not dieting as such, but am trying to stick to under 1500 calories a day to lose 20kgs, so certainly empathise! Hohum 😀

I’m just trying to eat a smoothie or oatmeal and fruit for breakfast and one other small meal–but letting myself eat whatever I want (no dessert) for the small meal–but in half portions. No snacking except on fruit, celery or carrots. I’ve lost 27.5 lbs. since June 8. Not bad. I feel so much better. I also do an hour of pool aerobics every day. Good luck to you! Any plan works if you just stick to it.
