I’ve been waiting for the opportunity to use this picture of a dugout canoe taken on the Amazon in Peru. Black and White is not the right challenge for it, however, as it needs the contrast to green to stand out from all the foliage and other undergrowth rubble.
I thought perhaps cutting out some of the background would help, but there is still just too much business going on!

The first one is the best for this particular challenge, I think. It helps if you have special software that will sharpen up one part and soften another, increasing contrast by sections. But they are all interesting and very woody 🙂

Now this is a real cool carved boat. Can you imagine the time it took to make it. 😀 Totally fascinating.

I agree with you the picture needs some color to help distract from all the other objects. It is an excellent one of the canoe.
