On a much less traumatic theme, when my sisters and I were teenagers and going with guys – mostly in a group, not so paired off yet – our Dad always said “Bring them home; if they don’t want to come home, that’s a bad sign.” The other thing he said was “There’s safety in numbers” so the group (as opposed to today’s ‘gang’) was our saving grace. Wish it had been yours.
