Have you ever seen a blue orchid? The flower vendor swore it was its natural color.

Still hard for me to believe it isn’t dye-infused.

I have some photos of a blue orchid. Although I really like your orchid, so much better than mine. 😀 😀

So, Cee, you think the color on mine was natural? I haven’t embellished it at all. It was exactly that color–so opaque that I thought it must have been dyed, although the many selling it said no.

I brought a blue orchid this week. It doesn’t have center piece, however.

Was it this vividly and opaquely blue, Betty? I would have bought this one but I was totally out of money and needed to drive to another town as there is no bank or money machine in the town where I stay.

It’s gorgeous. I looked it up. There are, apparently, quite a few varieties of blue orchids. But this one is especially lovely.

Did you see this one elsewhere, Marilyn?

So, you tempted me to go on a search and I did find this variety of orchid in blue, but the central parts that were maroon and white were blue in the pic I found

But if it had been done with dye, wouldn’t the dye have bled into the other parts of the flower?

You make a good point. There are cala lilies they used to sell that were vivid hot pink, cobalt blue and acid yellow. They swore they were natural but it was actually done by infusing water with dye and putting the stems in it. But you are right–how could they direct it to just one part of the flower? Numerous people have testified to there being blue orchids. I Googled it and saw many pictures…including one similar orchid to the one I photographed where the entire orchid was that opaque blue…so I’m willing to believe in its authenticity!
