Last week I showed you Little Duck’s Adventure. This week I want to show you Frida’s. I’ve decided try try to take one of the dogs for a walk every day. Frida got the first turn and did great. After a scare last week when we thought we were going to have to put her down, the miracles of modern medicine saved the day, and she’s like a young dog again. The day after the big rains, we went down to inspect the lake along the malecon. (Click on photos to enlarge and read captions.)
Although the curled under tail indicates otherwise, Frida was in a good mood and was perfectly behaved and energetic.
I counted eight waterfalls in the mountains above the town. I live up on that mountain!
A closeup of the largest seasonal falls.
Senor Garcia is the name of this dormant volcanic mountain.
Those trees out in the water were on dry land a few months ago.
As were these.
These water hyacinths give testimony to the fact that they are opening the spillways on the Lerma River to let more water into Lake Chapala.
The playground equipment acquired a water hazard.
But these little girls didn’t let it stop them.
Boats were nestled in among the water hyacinth.
We walked past the fisherman’s flotilla on our way back to the car.
Past the Mayan calendar mural mouldering away on the wall near our car.
And finally, our own car.

You have some really great odd balls. The teeter totter is cleverly made. There are so many good and fun photos.

Remi, I am always left feeling bemused with shoes like that … I couldn’t wear them even if I wanted? The redeeming feature? The cute bows around the ankles. Nice touch. What’s the surname for Frida? Kahlo? Lastly, looks like a CRV there? Does it have the notorious table in back? If so? Have you ever used it? Lots of questions … I know! Cheers Jamie.

It is a CRV. Does it have a table? If so, I’ve never seen it. I bought it used so it is 6 or 7 years old. No outside tire rack. I love it. A workhorse. Yes.. Frida is after Frida Kahlo and Diego is after Rivera. I was going to name Morrie Trotsky but that seemed a bit much.

I dunno” Trots has a certain panache ? hehe. I have a CVR too. Mine is so much older and I bought it new, 14 years ago. Just turned 100,00 km, what’s that? About 80,000 m? It’s starting to age but I’m not keen on having another car. I guess they did away with that table when they put the tire inside? Underneath, or whatever. For the longest while that was the selling point, sales man would be keen to point out. They’ve been in production for about 20 years now, with many incarnations. … Luv ’em! Cheers Jamie

It was, and I’m determined to make more of it. They love to leave the compound to take a walk and I’ve been too selfish to do so for a long time now. Changing that.

Loved them. I would love to see some closeups of the old church if you go there again!

Will do, but this is the new church. The old just has one wall and the steeple standing. (Even the new church is old.)
