I think the greatest thing that the Beatles did for the world of pop music is that they made it cerebral!!

Were you singing along? Any tears? I was thinking of the downstairs wing hall in the XO house, for some reason, It is irreversibly bound up with Beatles music in my memories. And sitting in a car with Steve Guelde the first time I heard “Hey Jude,” and it becoming our song. And peeling the paper off the front of the White album because there was a rumor that the original album was shocking–and they had to cover it over. I think they were supposed to be all in the nude? I still have that album with the corner peeled back.

He is. I’d seen him in some of his other Karaoke car shows but forgot who he was. I don’t have any TV hookup so depend on the internet and friends to clue me in…This one was sent to me by my dear cuz who sends lots of good stuff.

OH MY> The first concert I saw was in NYC in 1966. I have adored the beatles ever since. So many milestones in my life were accompanied by their music…thank you for sharing this. I laughed, I cried, I jumped up and danced!

i cried all the way through it–from the time when they first broke into song. It was so charming and the music has never lost its thrill. So glad you enjoyed it, too. It opens up our hearts again–sealed against all the ugliness lately.

James Corden is amazing. He brings out the best in his guests – not that I think it’s hard with Paul McCartney. They’re both so warm and enthusiastic. This is a fantastic video.

I did, too. During the entire thing, once they started singing. I think it was so touching to see their purity and the innocence of Paul singing those old songs, still with such emotion and affection. And it brought up memories of what I was doing when each song was popular. They were such catalysts for the age..with such a peaceful message when we are so divided and angry right now. I loved seeing all the generations attracted to the music like a magnet. I’m crying right now, writing this.

Hi Judy. I saw this video the other night and the next day my husband called me into his office and said you have to see this video. It was the same video. It made us both smile. So nice to know where the inspiration for Let it Be came from.
