I must admit, Amy, that the one with the trees and hills in the background and the acres of wildflowers is not South Dakota. It was taken near Tapalpa, Mexico! My bad. I thought it was taken near the Black Hills of South Dakota. Oh well. Pretty, nonetheless.
Wall Drug is a huge tourist attraction, Tina, and it’s on the main Interstate hwy going east and west. Google it. Started out small when I was a little girl by offering free ice water and has grown into a large enterprise.
Wonderful shots of vast open spaces. I haven’t been to SD yet. Your shots fit my mental picture of it. I especially love your black and white images. Beautiful and very expressive.
Vast and beautiful!

Have you ever been there, Janet?

No — I’ve been to contiguous states, but never to either of the Dakotas. My comment referred truly just to your photos.

Yes.. lots of sky and grass. Not many mountains or trees, at least in the part of the state where I was raised.

They really do. Luckily my part of Mexico has incredible cloud formations as well.

Vast landscape of S. Dakota. All are beautifully captured. The last two images are my favorite images. Thank you for taking us there, Judy!
