I almost entered these photos for Cee’s Flower of the Day prompt. These breakfasts at a beach restaurant in La Manzanilla, Mexico were as good as they looked! Beautiful artistry for the eye and stomach.
My sweetheart would have loved your choice. When I was growing up, we only ever had (thin) pancakes with sugar and lemon at tea time once a year on Shrove Tuesday, so I don’t associate them with breakfast. On a very adventurous day, I might try the pancakes, on a hungry day, I would pick the one closest to the full English, on a less hungry day, I’d have the fruit.
They are beautiful. Almost to beautiful to eat. 😀

I’m glad I saw this in the evening, not before breakfast. I spent far too long in any case deciding which one I’d choose.

And which did you choose? I had the pancakes with bananas and pecans.

Do you know why that menu was served on Shrove Tueday?

Perhaps because is was a form of carbo-loading before the fasting period of Lent?

I always understood it was to use up the good things before the fast, but there was only flour, egg and milk plus the sugar and the lemon.
