For Nancy Merrill’s special Mother’s Day challenge, we were asked to post a photo of our mother. This is my very favorite photo of my mother and me. My mother lived to be 91 and never really got old. May I inherit that capacity from her. R.I.P. Mother!!!! xooxox

An endearing post – and look at those triceps 🙂

Thanks, Sadje. It had been 7 years since there was a baby in the house. My mom had developed some muscle!! Weight-lifting hadn’t become the craze so she resorted to baby-lifting.

I think baby lifting is way more exerting. 😍

This post came into my view/email at the exact time a friend was Skyping me about “is this what old feels like” (he’ll be 70 in July). I told him “old” isn’t a specific number. Your caption speaks to that.

Motherhood is highly underrated as a job. I used to list it on my resume and described all the things I did as a mom. It actually got my resume looked at — and it was true. Motherhood is one serious job.

I agree. Eight stepkids gave me a view of the truth of that.
