I haven’t seen cattails in years. They used to be abundant in the fields near my home. Something about them that I just love!

I have some four foot high ones that have been a huge jar next to my desk for 22 years!!! I sprayed them with hairspray and they have never lost their form.

We used to have acres of them by the lake when the lake was shrinking and was a mile further out. Now those areas are all under water again, but there are still cattails as you can see in this photo.

What a lovely picture. The closest thing we have to cattails are reed plants that grow to about 6 feet tall on a nearby wet marsh.
