They lift their wings
to float, then pump.
Slower than flit,
faster than slump.
Not content with loll and putter,
moths prefer to sail and flutter
through the air
from here to there.
The Weekend Writing Prompt is to write exactly 34 words making use of the word “flutter.” My word count includes the title.

A beautiful poem and very descriptive of a moth, I too notice the difference of their flight from that of a butterfly.
Oh, I wrote one about a moth flying around a burning candle many, many years ago..flying too close and dying. I wonder if I can find it in my very, very old poems. I had lost the friendship of a beautiful girlfriend and this was an Analogy written in my sadness.
I must have never posted it to the computer, It may be one of those that Shirley burned~! When I went looking for it, this is what “came up”, so it will have to do~! HA_HA~!

What rhymes with flutter? Butter, clutter, mutter, cutter, putter… Yup. It’s doable… Interesting moth!
