Semi-Cold Turkey: Bird of the Week

These fellows seem very at ease wandering through the town of Sheridan, Wyoming, this summer during the hottest week of the year. Here they stroll through the shade of my friend Duffy’s yard. Definitely not camera-shy. They were about as Cold Turkey as they could be during this snap when daily temperatures reached 110 degrees!

About lifelessons

My blog, which started out to be about overcoming grief, quickly grew into a blog about celebrating life. I post daily: poems, photographs, essays or stories. I've lived in countries all around the globe but have finally come to rest in Mexico, where I've lived since 2001. My books may be found on Amazon in Kindle and print format, my art in local Ajijic galleries. Hope to see you at my blog.

I just learned how to “harvest” a chicken at a neighboring farm! My earliest shock in life was seeing a chicken run around a neighbors yard with its head off, now I have more tactile & visuals under my belt…

Perry, I have a book about to come out where the penultimate poem is about a chicken running around with its head cut off! Look for it on Amazon. It’s called The China Bulldog and Other Stories of a Small Town Girl!
