The Roads Both Taken (Rejecting Manic-depression)
Two roads diverged in my mellow mood,
and happy I could then travel both,
I laughed. Then I commenced to brood,
and found, at length that I was loath
to forego one and choose them both!!!!
(Overview. Bipolar disorder (formerly called manic-depressive illness or manic depression) is a mental illness that causes unusual shifts in a person’s mood, energy, activity levels, and concentration. These shifts can make it difficult to carry out day-to-day tasks. There are three types of bipolar disorder.)
For Forgottenman’s Prompt, he wanted us to do a switcheroo on Frost’s “The Road Not Taken” by writing a poem using the lines “Two roads diverged in my mellow mood,
and happy I could then travel both,” as our first two lines. Above is my submission to the prompt.

Why could we only travel one road, why not both! Well written

A disorder that is thankfully being better recognised and understood.

I had an experience with this road in Switzerland in a forest. I chose one only to find it connected to the other a little further on. 🙂

So you couldn’t make a wrong decision!

I guess. I kind of thought it meant we end up at the same place no matter which road. 😀

Actually, you are right..but in taking both roads to get there perhaps it takes longer!

Sometimes I feel like this when I know someone long ago and we part and go in opposite directions but meet again in the unlikeliest of places many years afterwards. It’s like you were meant to be friends but each took a different path that led back to a time and place where you can have a second chance at it.

Love seeing your name every time, dear friend.

How often there are two (or more) ways to arrive at the same destination. And often the shortest or easiest way is not necessarily the best!
