Strange Fashion
Be it city, mountains or open range,
one thing on Earth that I find strange
is folks who purchase pants pristine,
then shred them, leaving less blue jean,
revealing butt cheek, thigh and knee
to be the bulk of what we see.
Meanwhile, half a world away,
people toil night and day
to replace clothes they’ve worn to frays,
embarrassed at what time displays.
If only we could work a trade
between the torn clothes naturally made
and those made by blade or rake,
simply for vain fashion’s sake.

Blue jeans have come a long way from work pants haven’t they.

Yes it’s exactly the opposite in poor countries. Hilarious poem Judy

I fail to find the appeal in torn clothing. Tsk.

True! I don’t know that I’ve ever owned a pair of ripped blue jeans.
