This is okcForgottenMan again. Judy & I have been engaging on Skype messaging for much of the day, and she is still hurting bad. But she has been cheered by your comments. Her remaining canine critters seem to know what happened, and they have been uncharacteristically subdued, but sticking close by. Then Judy at her computer clicked on the audio of a song she wrote that was performed by a friend. That song is called “I Really Want A Puppy”, the title of an upcoming book Judy is working on. She’s not ready to release the song at large yet, but I listened (again), and her dogs heard it.
Judy: Both dogs have been so quiet and sad and just lying quietly by my side.. But, I just tested the QR code on the cover of my new book and it started playing Becky singing “I Really Want a Puppy” and they jerked up and came running over to me and both licked my neck and then they started playing with each other for the first time since Annie’s accident. Amazing. This is the first thing that has lifted my spirits all day long. Thanks, Becky!
Like y’all, I only knew Annie through Judy’s photos and words. But tonight I found that Judy made and posted a video of Annie playing with a chew toy a couple days ago. Seeing Annie in motion like that finally made her very real to me. (Welling up just writing that!)
Judy just previewed this post and notes: That’s the toy I buried her with. R.I.P. sweet Annie, my dear.
Again, hug your critters if you have them, dear readers!

Sending love. Thank you for allowing us to be part of this, heartbreaking as it is. Because of your posts and photos and comments, we came to adore Annie, too.
xoxo

hi Judy, you gave little Annie the best love she ever had. Try as we’d like, we can’t protect anyone or anything. I love my Frida Chihuahua so much, but sometimes she is by herself in the back yard. We have coyotes in the neighborhood and even a bald eagle or two with fly overs. We also had a raccoon the other day that she tried and assumed she could defeat by chasing it up the cherry tree. It is a dangerous world. That we pr that they are loved for our short or long or in-between time here is the miracle. Little Annie knew your love!
Love

I’m sure Judy feels awful. All I can say is I feel awful with you. Losing any of our pets is traumatic, but that was worse than usual. I think I’d be in hiding for a while too. Sometimes it just hurts too much to want to deal with it in public.

Judy, I have cried over precious Annie’s accident. She was such a lively cute doll. We never know why such bad things happen. Sometimes I think there are reasons, as much as we hate it. Today I thought of you when I was at the animal shelter. There is a little black puppy (slightly larger than Annie and six months old) who has been there 2 months. She is so sweet and follows you everywhere. She is looking for someone to love her. She’s too small to go in the cage with the big puppies and has to be shut in a crate everyday at 3 when they close. Maybe Annie’s sole purpose in life was to find you and open your heart to another puppy and then move on to a happier life. You have so much love to give, please think about this puppy who had a bad head injury and was thrown away. I send you 1,000 hugs for giving Annie such a happy life while she was here. Rita

As Judy knows, I fell in love at first sight with Annie. It’s all inexplicable. 💔
