Most of the people I know in Sheridan, Wyoming, where I go every year for medical appointments, were friends or acquaintances from the University of Wyoming, where we all went to college. Every year for the past few years, Marilyn has taken me and a friend for a sunset drive out in the gorgeous Wyoming countryside. This year, the skies were especially colorful, thanks to huge fires burning 30 or more miles away. I wouldn’t wish those prairie fires on anyone, but they surely have made for gorgeous skies here. In addition, Marilyn knows where all the wildlife hangs out, from trumpeter swans to deer to wilk turkeys. I had to do a lot of cutting to come up with these photos which represent about a third of the photos I took. I go home tomorrow, but have one more shoot from two days ago that I’ll try to organize when I get home. Happy Trails!!!
What a glorious visit!

What a beautiful ride! The glass insulators are really intriguing, and the wildlife shots are beautiful. Hope the medical stuff went well!

It did, Janet. Leaving tomorrow at 5 a.m. to go back to Mexico. I loved the insulators as well. Have never seen them reflecting light like that before.

There’s no place like Wyoming. I love it up there. Sheridan — among other things — is where my dad and uncles used to go to buy illegal fireworks for the 4th. I hope everything went well!!!

It did. I’ll be in Denver by a bit after 6 am tomorrow and then in a few hours off to Houston and Guadalajara. Wish I still had the energy to drive back and forth as I have so many times before and I’d swing by and see you. As it is, I’ll see you here on the blog!!!

That would be so great, but that is one hell of a drive, even just from Houston. I wish I had it in me, but for various reasons having nothing to do with will or desire, I don’t. I’m very happy the visit was good medically and you got to see friends and beautiful wild wonderful Wyoming! I almost retired there. ❤️ Safe travels, Judy!!!

It was. Unfortunately there are now horrible fires quite close to us. Not in any of the area you see here, but within 30 miles..So sad.
I’ve driven my van back and forth between California or Wyoming and Mexico so many times, but not so anymore. I. agree.
