“Happy Things” for SOCS, Aug 23, 2024

Since the prompt today is “hap,” I am rerunning a blog from eight years ago on the subject of happiness. Sadly, all of the people except for one in the fifth photo have since passed away, as have two of the sweet dogs in the sixth photo. It is a reminder to gather our happiness while we may!!!

Working in my art studio makes me happy, although I haven’t done so for almost a year.  I wonder why?  Too caught up in blogging, I fear.  I need to consider that question in the upcoming months.

DSC05397Trees make me happy.  Especially palm trees that provide shade but don’t block the view!!!  And create a beautiful view all their own.

DSCN2469I love entertaining friends and family at my house.DSC05291(Including those who won’t let me take their pictures as well as those who do.)

About lifelessons

My blog, which started out to be about overcoming grief, quickly grew into a blog about celebrating life. I post daily: poems, photographs, essays or stories. I've lived in countries all around the globe but have finally come to rest in Mexico, where I've lived since 2001. My books may be found on Amazon in Kindle and print format, my art in local Ajijic galleries. Hope to see you at my blog.

    Judy,
Once again our minds were running in parallel this morning. Especially your second paragraph, but all the rest of the statement and photos I really liked. I just started to jump up to heat up my second cup of coffee and nearly stepped on a rather large field mouse. This happens about twice a month. Which ever of my house mates put that gift there is often a riddle. I think it is a mutual effort at least part of the time. That is where Tami also drops her “toys” for me. and Eppie is a great hunter. I think that Eppie gives her great catches to Tami and Tami delivers them to me as a mutual “morning appreciation gift.

Back to the subject, I agree with everything you said above. especially the second paragraph, But that is none of my business and i am guilty of the same weakness.
After my reply on the Orphan Train subject, other related subjects came to mind and I googled enough information hits to actually write a posting long enough to become a good book. But I defer this to others, but may post some of my findings. I just have too much left in my bucket list and too little time to take care of it, to not get off on another side track~!

Hi Judy, This was a lovely post to read for many reasons. First, because of the photograph you shared and said, ‘Most of the people in it are no more’. I have those, too,and it hurts me to see them. It also kind of felt like, ‘ It’s only my family that’s like this. It’s unfair.’ I liked your positivity to cherish happiness.

I’m trying to make art and blogging go hand in hand. It’s hard so I have slowed down on blogging. I hope you can get back to art as well. Your wall art is lovely.
