What is it on the first picture? It looks strange.

It is one stage of a hummingbird moth larvae. They go through so many stages, but this is the most strange. When tiny they are bright red, then pink,then green, then brown with white markings. I’ve done blogs that show all their stages.

Jez, it was being used as a scarecrow and it certainly worked on me. Bizarre. This was in a remote area of Mexico where I drove with three friends to look for artists for a yearly Feria conducted here to promote Mexican craftspeople and artists.
