Beloved
Each morning when I wake
to shrill alarm or sweet bird song,
depending upon the requirements of my day,
you are the first to greet my opening eyes.
You rest there on the pillow next to me
in the bed where first I, then you,
have fallen to sleep the night before
too soon, too soon,
before half our words were said.
It is the first stroke of my fingers
that brings you finally to life.
Your countenance lights up
and the same love words
I revealed to you last night
are returned to me.
My hands caress
and new words come easily
first to me, then to you.
I touch gently all
your fine smoothness,
getting back
everything that I give
equal measure,
continuing our long love story
of give and take
as I shift your light frame onto my lap
to stroke your separate parts
from question mark to exclamation point.
Could a PC ever rouse this passion in me?
No way, MacBook Air. Thou art my love!
The SOCS prompt is “Love” of course. Happy Valentine’s Day !!!!

Judy,
The ending was excellent. I didn’t see it coming.

Good. That was my intent. Didn’t want to give it away with an illustration. Must have been a surprise when I hoisted my love up on my lap…ha. Strong woman.

Thanks for that. Must admit I love fooling y’all. How is the potential move coming along? I have fingers crossed.

We have our flight reservations made and our Airbnb reservations almost completed. We will spend 62 days in Portugal visiting different cities to find a home to rent for a year. We need a rental agreement for our application for D-7 visa. So we are moving forward. Sickness and surgery for us both in the last six or more months set us back a lot, but we are still hopeful. I am ready!

Take pictures. I’d love to see what you see. I always thought I’d go back to Portugal but never did.

Aha…you fell right into my clutches, Lisa. That’s exactly what I hoped you’d think once I pulled it onto my lap. Guess you all know I’m not weightlifter enough to lift anything human!!!

🤣 well, we Apple folks feel strongly about our macs…

We do. And those who aren’t mac lovers simply can’t understand it. I think it is the way your mind works that determines which computer works for you. Before I bought my first computer, I took classes on how to operate them. The mac class gelled immediately. It just made sense to me.

It’s very intuitive. My kids laugh at me reading my instruction pamphlets — they just pick things up and take off running — but I can’t fight the urge to read “official” instructions. 🙂

And I have a terrible time forcing myself to read instructions..It’s not that I’m that good at figuring things out myself. It’s just that directions and I don’t mix.
