Petunia: for FOTD July 26, 2023

The popular name for this flower is “Seaside Petunia.” Ironic, because I photographed it in Sheridan, Wyoming.  Looks like something has been chewing on the bottom flower. Rabbits, perhaps? There is always one in the yard there.

I decided to research the matter, and this is what I discovered:
“Fortunately, petunias are a totally safe food for rabbits, and most rabbits absolutely love them and will eat them by the handful. Rabbits tend to be keen on eating flowers, so if you let your bunny roam free in your garden, be aware that it is likely to nibble at least a few of the pretty petals.” HERE is the source for this information.

Yarrow: FOTD July 21, 2023

I did a closeup of this yarrow plant in my friend Patty’s garden a week or so ago and a friend said it didn’t look like yarrow, so above is a view of the entire plant.  HERE is the closeup. I agree, it looks very different close up, but my plant identifier agrees with me that it is yarrow.

Bougainvilla: FOTD July 12, 2023

Awaiting yer pic!  ( This was the note on the blog Forgottenman had waiting for me to add a photo to today. What a kind act from a dear person. He was correct in supposing I would forget to post in the rush of things so he made it easier for me.  I have been running all day. First the drive back to Sheridan from Billings after a night in a hotel there, then an eye appointment, then shopping first for groceries and then for all the makeup I did not bring from Mexico because I only brought a carryon and planned to buy all my makeup and other maintenance “stuff” here in the states.  A chat with my friend Patty whom I’m staying with and her guy Duffy and I’m now back in bed. Dr. appt. tomorrow. Rodeo going on across the street.  Lots of drum rolls and crowd cheers and odors a la horses!!!  But this blog is supposed to be about flowers, so here they are!!!!)
