Century’s EndIMG_7113 IMG_7120 IMG_7116Flowers way past their prime have a charm all their own. These tenacious ladies  seem to be clinging to the stalk for as long as possible, just like some of us intend to do!!!

(The century plant blooms once–for a very long time–and then dies, but another plant always springs up in its place.)

Version 2 IMG_5316 IMG_5299I love the fragile waxy bloom of the aloe.  In a cluster, they look rather scraggly, but individually, I think they are exquisite–both in their variegated and subtle coloring and their simple fluted style.  I was experimenting with placement.  Chances are you’ll see a few other “posings” tomorrow!
