This is the kissing alley in Guanajuato.. These two balconies were so close that lovers could lean across for a rendezvous. Legend says that a father killed his own daughter when he discovered she’d been meeting a young man below her in the social order from the balcony where you see the girl in this photo.

I must say that it was almost impossible for me to find photos with balconies. It seems they are not as common in the U.S. and Mexico as they are in Europe. That said, with the exception of the first photo which depicts the most famous balconies in Guanauato, I must admit these are probably all small second floor patios rather than balconies. Best I could do. I tried!!
