This is the first time I’ve ever been able to get an orchid plant to bloom again after its original flowers fade and drop off. For some reason they just seem not to want to survive in my proximity. Although I have lots of outdoor plants, this is my only indoor one, except for a few succulents in small planters in the bathrooms. I bought this orchid at the annual orchid show in Mazamitla two years ago, along with a few others. It is the only one I kept inside and I attribute my success to the fact that I pretty much ignored it.
For Cee’s FOTD

And what a wonderful colour. My orchids seem to be flowering constantly, just luck. But to have such a unique orchid flowering again is great.

That’s beautiful — I think that orchids must thrive on being ignored!

Such a deep purple. Remember that old song? I loved it. That is, “Deep Purple.”

It’s a beauty, such a rich colour. I’ve never been able to keep orchids alive after the flowers dropped off. Well done.

Me either, Carol.. Except the ones that used to be outside in my tree. For some reason my gardener moved them and now they never bloom. Grrrr.
