Retire in Mexico!!!

IMG_0240

DSC08910I’ve been looking for an excuse to share this cartoon so guess I’ll just use it as a recruitment device.  In spite of all the bad publicity, Mexico is a great place to live, not to mention the price of beer!

About lifelessons

My blog, which started out to be about overcoming grief, quickly grew into a blog about celebrating life. I post daily: poems, photographs, essays or stories. I've lived in countries all around the globe but have finally come to rest in Mexico, where I've lived since 2001. My books may be found on Amazon in Kindle and print format, my art in local Ajijic galleries. Hope to see you at my blog.

I have been heading that way for quite some time. But when you are Blessed as I, it becomes more difficult. I shall keep trying, its an old friend spent a great deal of time there. Is that your Casa, on the rise looks nice. love the cartoon, fits. Have a great day

My folks had a life-long love affair with Mexico. They spent many winters in SMdA and toyed with the idea of retiring there, but for all us kids and grandkids living in the states.

We were actually planning on living in SMdA and were there 8 weeks before coming for a one day stopover in Ajijic. One night turned into 10 and by the end of it, we’d bought a house here!

Hola, mi vecina. Glad to catch a glimpse of the terrazza of our old house, and the palapa roof. Strangely, the colors look very washed out to me, although probably not to our neighbors. Loved lying in the palapa hammocks out in the yard and looking up at the mountains or out at the lake. A great place to watch the clouds. Viva Mexico!

Love your site and appreciate how you have grown from getting over grief to celebrating life. A good lesson alone in and of itself. Life is a series of lessons and if it were not for the last 5 years I would not be contemplating retiring to Mexico. Please tell us ALL about where you are, the good AND the bad, for to make a balanced decision one has to know the Pros and Cons. Letting us know about the creepy crawlies, insects, snakes, etc. allows us to make an informed decision in total. It is not all about the 3 C’s = cheapness, climate and cervazas. Thanks so much and here is my research so far about retiring in Mexico and there will be more posts to my blog as well (full disclosure my blog is mainly for writers but anyone can gain strength, love and understanding there).
