A Shift in Senses

If I could, I’d gladly surrender my sense of smell for an enhanced sense of hearing. The sense of smell gives me more pain than pleasure because of allergies to floral scents. Also, losing the sense of smell affects the ability to taste – the perfect diet!

Today’s WP Prompt: Super Sensitive – If you were forced to give up one sense, but gain super-sensitivity in another, which senses would you choose?

(I’m on the road without wi-fi, so I sent a cellphone text message to my proxy robot okcforgottenman to post this in my name. I’ll add more later when I get hotel wi-fi.)

About lifelessons

My blog, which started out to be about overcoming grief, quickly grew into a blog about celebrating life. I post daily: poems, photographs, essays or stories. I've lived in countries all around the globe but have finally come to rest in Mexico, where I've lived since 2001. My books may be found on Amazon in Kindle and print format, my art in local Ajijic galleries. Hope to see you at my blog.

I think so, too, but at least i don’t have to experience the nausea of everything being scented–with clashing unnatural scents–even the fresh air and sea breeze and natural scents…yecht!!!

I know what you mean — I bought an OTC nasal steroid (my insurance company was being a butt) and it had ROSE fragrance. Awful. If I’d been dealing with allergies I can only imagine how that would have been.
