I did. Actually, the pictures were terrible, as was the condition of the flowers, so I was trying to get something I could use. Then that moment occurs when things come together! I love it. Not so successful with the project I’m working on now, though. After a couple of hours of work I think I’ll just trash it and begin again…for the different angles prompt. Win some, lose some.

That’s just how I started playing with effects. A picture I liked but which couldn’t stand on its own. And look at your gorgeous results!!

Thanks for the lovely photos. We had a facing overhang on the front of our house in San Jose, CA. My dad had planted Bird of Paradise. A small maybe 3 feet tall plant. We had what we figured was a volunteer. It grew and grew to approximately 12 to 15 feet tall and we wondered what we had? Speculation was a banana tree? Eventually it bloomed and we discovered we had a giant Bird of Paradise with white blooms perhaps 2 1/2 feet long. I’ve only seen one other. In a public green house here in Tacoma WA. The one in the green house is about 25 to 30 feet tall and I know it was many years old although not sure how old. Such a weird wonderful plant to turn up in our garden! I love how your photos, stories and poems act as a springboard for my own memories.
Thanks Judy, Remi

I was afraid I’d lost you, Al. Haven’t seen you here for awhile. Thanks for your memories. I’ve seen those huge birds of paradise trees…They have one on the Lake Chapala Society grounds.
