Cee says to take lots of shots and I won’t fight her on this..I’m a great believer in the fact that the more you take, the more likely you are to find one you like. Sorta like chocolates! (Sorry, Forrest.) Believe it or not, I’ve weeded out my shots. Some need cropping, but I’m leaving them to show the difference. I like the first one best, but I would crop it to remove the computer power cord.

I like how you slowly moved back to reveal their relative size — at first, they seemed much larger than they later appeared to be. Beautifully done. Yes, the computer cord is strange to see, but then, on second thoughts, I like that. Something so timeless as those statues, in direct contrast to the modern, prosaic thing that’s a computer cord makes for an unexpected and gently humorous statement in some wonderfully composed pieces of photography.

Thanks, Dreamer. I had them in order but somehow they got jumbled. The strange one is also a picture of this clutter, but I worked it in the Mac Photo editing program. Very limited but if you play enough you can get some weird little paintings out of it.

Working close like that, small changes of position can enormously affect the way your camera measures light. Those are the hardest pictures to take. If you do a lot of it, an actual studio light or two (little, table top lights will do the job) really help. I used to use them a lot when I had an online store so I could take decent product pictures. If you were local, I’d give you mine since I don’t use them anymore.

We had a full studio setup that I sold when my husband died The guy asked if he could pay after Xmas so he could buy his kids presents. He never paid me a cent for cameras, strobes, backdrops, timers, and other lights!

I like your first shot too. I would crop it to. But for this challenge no cropping is necessary. I also like the 3rd one. I like the shadowy near silhouette feel to it.
