Thursday Doors on Friday

Version 3 IMG_7840 IMG_7841 IMG_7834In a place where square does not rule the day anyway, it was very hard to get a square take on these doors without having the door blocked by the very ugly black street sign.  The more ornate older sign added to the view, but the ugly black one definitely didn’t!!

It looked like an abandoned building, Jean, but I always feel like that, too. It was on a corner of two streets that lead to a popular restaurant and the Lake Chapala Society–both popular meeting places.

I ‘went’ to Lake Chapala on Google earth and took a ‘walk’ down a market, I think. It was research for a book I was working on. It reminded me of a place where we used to live in Spain, called La Siesta, which was close to a salt lake. Before my research I had never heard of Lake Chapala.

I had never heard of it until I decided we needed to check out San Miguel. My husband did research (This was pretty much pre-internet) and said he’s also like to see Ajijic (on Lake Chapala) and Patzcuaro–another lakeside town–as well. We ended up buying a house in San Juan Cosala–a small town near Ajijic. There is a wonderful drone aerial view of the area now. I’ll find the URL..Judy

That’s a coincidence. We lived near a town called San Miguel in Spain.(However, there are a lot of places called San Miguel there, so you’re never far away from one of them). You mustn’t be too far from Guadalajara.

I only got around to posting on Friday, but you can post any day in the week, so it is not too late to post on the same prompt I did. i give a link in my post. I’ll look for your door, but just in case, send me a message with the URL. My memory often goes on vacation!!!
