We Sin Again
Today once more WordPress has cheated.
A Daily Prompt has been repeated.
In short, this “The Eighth Deadly Sin”
as a prompt is wearing thin.
I wrote all I’ve to say, I fear,
and what I wrote can be found HERE.
Now that topic’s been depleted
and our attitudes grow heated.
We’ve complained and raved and stomped––
Ye shall not repeat the Daily Prompt!!!
Remember the seven cardinal sins? You’re given the serious task of adding a new one to the list — another trait or behavior you find particularly unacceptable, for whatever reason. What’s sin #8 for you? Why?
Truly an entertaining response!

Well said I had to avoid that one, otherwise I will be repeating myself. but Thou shalt really not repeat the daily prompt, at least only a year thereafter.

I knew you would be the first to respond to this angloswiss and I’m anxious to see what you said about it in your blog–as soon as I’ve gotten back from my walk and swim!!

I couldn’t do it either. I tried. I failed. I swear this is at least the fourth time around for this one. Maybe REPETITION is the eight deadly sin?

Well I do not always do the daily prompts – but follow enough blogs to know that many bloggers find it frustrating to have a repeated prompt- and so I think the 8th one would be “not keeping track of important things” -and so tip for the powers that be with the prompts – write them down – keep a master file and only recycle every five years- I mean come on now – they can do it! When I taught art I had the same students for a few years in a row and they asked for fresh daily drawing prompts (we opened classes with them or used them for after school clubs – anyhow – I spent some time one weekend making this master list of warm-up drawing prompts – and I had PDFs and sheets galore – more than a few thousand. So if I could do it (Come up with potentially six years worth of a new prompt a day) well someone at the almighty WP should have a master list to not redo prompts for at least 3 to 5 years -just my opinion!

I think they have the misconception that only new bloggers make use of the prompts, but if they’d check, they’d realize there are plenty of we oldies who have been doing them from 3 to 5 years and perhaps for longer. No excuse to repeat prompts that were given less than a year ago!!! I have sent in several suggestions for prompts that were never used, so it is not for lack of possibilities.

I am surprised that this happens because it seems like so many areas of WP are improved with feedback as they lead the way in this blogosphere – I wonder the reasoning – and I guess in the meantime bloggers can just provide a link to their former answer-

Yes, I usually do and often write a new post as well…usually jokingly censorious. Poor WP???
