Pick of the Crop

Pick of the Crop
I am really glad Cee has extended these “Compose Yourself” challenges to only two per month, as I’ve had a problem completing them in one week.  The photos I’ve chosen all presented varied cropping choices, which I’ll discuss as I show them.

Cropping closely and adding exposure reveals more of the transaction going on in the foreground.

Version 3

But bringing back the shadow in the foreground, helps to reveal more interesting action in the background.

Version 2

And although the focus isn’t great, I love this cropped shot of this active little jogger.

My favorite is the red shorts, brown legs and blue ice pack on the knee. The leg follows the line of pebbles at the top of the picture; that diagonal line that I see so often in great photos so it must be something sought after.

I like that part, too. Earlier i had seen her bring the ice bag out to him and wondered what he had done to his knee. Strange because my upstairs neighbor fell and hit her elbow and I’d sent an icebag up I had just bought when I was in the states–a miniature one with marini olives all over it..as though it was for a hangover. I thought it was funny and at the last minute tossed it in to bring to beach…So I thought it was a coincidence that we would both have such an unusual object at the beach.
