Okay, to be fair I must reblog this. Tell me if you agree with me! And tell my colorblind friend as well.
serial monography: forgottenman's ruminations
Some of you know that my bff is Judy/Remi, therefore we must sometimes disagree. Tonight she responded to this prompt to post photos showing the color eggplant:
I suggested (well, strongly recommended) that she include the photo below in her post, but she declined (well, refused), because she says my t-shirt is maroon and oh-so-not eggplant. My eyes disagree. So, I put it to you, gentle observant occasional readers: does this photo show me wearing an eggplant-colored t-shirt (as I search for that damned buzzing fly)? Yea or nay?

Nay

It does have hint of red, so I’ll lean towards it not being eggplant. 😀Joe

Definitely not eggplant, at least in this photo.

Purple. NOT eggplant. Not maroon either. Purple.

Ah no, my dear. Definately not purple, which has a more royal cast. This is definitely a color of the great unwashed masses.

For what it’s worth, I would not call the t-shirt maroon but plum. The t-shirt does not seem to be aubergine, french plum or even eggplant. Which too is an odd colour for it’s shine has different colours within the same fruit. In general, I would agree with the colour squared above, as being aubergine. Or French Plum. Or Eggplant. Look at it this way? Computers all have varying differences within colour palettes. Call it eggplant, for the colour may well be within, that most delicious fruit and please be happy! There are no winners here. I like mine within Moussaka. Vegetarian moussaka. Mmmmm

Ha… I choose you for my arbitrator. I think peace would result.

I can see we’ve whetted your appetite. Hope you can find a restaurant open at this hour or at the very least have something appetizing in your fridge.

Ummm … thanks for both replies. I am honoured to be accepted as arbitrator. Peace is definitely good.
I make my own moussaka, when the mood hits. It takes a while to complete. The real key, of course is the sauce. Called bechamel. Although with goat’s cheese in it, not so sure? Anyway the lemony tang of the sauce, just yummy. As a vegetarian, I tend to stay clear of restaurant foods. For you never know what pollution happens.

I’m far more concerned with those shorts, insofar as only a sail of white atop would render the visage more suited to such a regal sloop. Of course, that maroon shirt may well camouflage any buzzing-fly carnage-to-come, so, what do I know? 😉

Well, I can see you have really gotten into this discussion, Relax. As a matter of fact, you have waxed poetic. Have no fear. No flies were damaged in this act.

From the small picture it LOOKS eggplant. In the bigger one it looks like it might have a bit too much red in it. BUT it’s certainly not maroon. Maroon has a bit more brown, I think.

at first glace I might say eggplant but as I stare more at it and compare the two I say the shirt is not eggplant. I have a husband color blind in both sets of colors. I know that eyes see differently in shades. I bet if you put many colors side by side there would be difference in each one of them.

It IS eggplant, at least according to my monitor. Now ‘eggplant’ to ME? Is a series of differing shades of, well, EGGPLANT colour. You’ll see what I mean by that if you peruse my post I did for the CYW challenge the other day. Those eggplants in the basket aren’t one uniform shade… This gentleman’s shirt is a variation of eggplant. So there. 😉

Yea, I do believe the color is aubergine or possibly mature grape.
