When I was little, I knew how to get back at my 4 years older sister. All I had to sing was this “silly little song” that Rosemary Clooney recorded with the Children’s Choir. The thing was that I knew she hated it and would yell at me for singing it and then my mother, who was grooming me for small town stardom, would yell at her for yelling at me. Oh yes, the world was peachy after I learned “Peachy Peachy Choppa Choppa Nya Nya Nya!”
But, this wasn’t the main reason I was delighted when I saw the color prompt was “Peach” today. The main reason was that tonight I snapped this incredibly colored sunset photo that unless I’m mistaken, will pass for peach. I’ve done no color alteration on it, by the way. With the clouds and the islands, perfect.

Those photos are achingly beautifully peachy. But, Dear, after listening to Rosemary Clooney sing that awful song, I have to side with your sister. I feel your pain, Patti! Now I’ll never be able to unhear it.

So does anyone except me like this song? I guess you had to be there… and young…to enjoy the silliness of it.

Aha so finally someone on my side, Connie! The Children’s Choir sang it, I believe, with Rosemary Clooney.

I had never heard of that song before… and after listening to it… I am glad my sister had never heard of it either!!! (That has to be a form of torture to hear it over and over again? )

OK, your sister weighs in. The thought of that song still sets my teeth on edge 60 years later.
