Judy, I just spent a half hour trying to track this flower down for you but I’m not having any luck. I recognize it, but I don’t remember ever knowing the name. If I find it I will let you know!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely gorgeous Judy. I can’t remember their names either. Lets just call them Lovely. 😀

Judy, “Garden” is a great app I use when I can’t identify flowers or remember their names. You just take a photo of the flower, click, and the app gives you the info. Or if it has second or third guesses, it gives you those, too.

Thanks, Judy. I knew there was something like that but had never located it. I’ll try it. Did you see the “Old Farts at the Beach” post? If not, you must. You’ll know why when you see the picture of Gloria!!! You were there with us in spirit.

If I’m not mistaken they’re indigenous to South Africa… as are so many other plants that have now found homes all around the world! (A bit like the humans as well!) 😉

Thanks, Al. Many of my favorites are native to South Africa–like the pincushion and proteus flowers. I remember loving the currency and coins in South Africa because of the beautiful plants featured on them. This was a long time ago, but i imagine that is still true.

The plants are still beautiful but like them finding a house elsewhere in the world we have done the same!! 😉 I don’t really know too much about the coins any more…

I haven’t been in South Africa since 1967, so I have no idea, either.
