Yolanda claims Grimmer’s ghost was here the morning she died and that it rang the bell over the door and when she and Pasiano went to see who it was, there was no one there. Yolanda said her spirit rang the bell and walked out the door to go for a walk… That is what spirits do in Mexico.
Then I remembered 15 years ago when my neighbor Celia said she had seen my husband’s ghost walk up the steps to her house in a blue flame. Why didn’t she tell me at the time, I asked, and she replied that she hadn’t wanted to upset me.
I asked Yolanda if she remembered the time she stood with her arms out and wouldn’t let Grimmer go out the door until she let her press her very wrinkled shorts. We decided maybe this time Grimmer had escaped Yolanda’s exacting standards
Later on Monday, when I had spent hours looking for my credit card, Yolanda suggested I light a candle for the little triptych of San Antonio that I bought at the feria this year. (San Antonio is the finder of lost objects.) I did so and the candle burned away completely to nothing, yet I never found my credit card.
If not the spirits themselves, at least the thoughts of spirits have been with us this week.

It is a very comforting thing to hope that the spirits of our loved ones still walk with us.

Is San Andreas any relation to St. Anthony? I think Anthony is the finder of lost object in English. Maybe you need a Spanish saint to find lost object when they only know Spanish?
I don’t know how I feel about the spirits of gone loved ones. Ambivalent, I think.

You are right! It is San Antonio!!! I wrote that too late! Muchas gracias. If I’d gone to find my camera to take a picture, I might have recognized my mistake…or perhaps not. I need a saint to help me remember the right saint… perhaps Santa Marilyn????

P.S. Marilyn–I changed my posting, substituting the correct saint for the miscast one. Thanks for having my back.

I’d even written another story about it! Sheesh. I’ve also added a photo, taken with my underwater camera since I had forgotten to charge both batteries on my Canon..No time to get a better photo as I need to leave in 45 minutes to take Pasiano to the doctor–but that is also a story for another day. This has not been a good week!!!

Oh I believe in ghosts, rather energy of people and pets left behind. I have heard of lots of stories of beloved ones who come and visit those left behind. In fact, while I was in my 40 day coma, I visited a friend of ours who lived in Arizona. When our friend told Chris about it, she told the doctors to stop giving the medicine that kept me in my coma. She said it was time I came back. Another Chris saw our first pug who had died running freely and she looked at Chris with a big smile and ran on. I could list experiences like this forever.

Did your friend see you or did you see your friend or both?

We actually had a conversation about how Chris needs a break. Actually I said I thought Chris took an 8 day break from the hospital and didn’t visit. Tyler assured me that she was with me all the time. Then Tyler got freaked out and called Chris.

wonderful about Grimmer and about your husband’s ghost…sorry you didn’t see your credit card, though. Tony prays to St. Jude whenever he loses something and often finds it with the Saint’s help. I’ve seen a ghost before, just once, and have felt the presence of others. One time T. and I heard someone walk up our stairway while we were in bed, and the stairs that creaked did so. The kids were asleep and Gretchen was, too. Tony checked. Our old house in Cheyenne was very very spooky and I hated being in it alone at night.

I’d like to hear your ghost story. Wouldn’t we have had fun at slumber parties as teenagers?
