They are a very pretty flower, but something that only flowers in my herbs if i allow it to. I always have chives growing, they have their own box, but as soon as I see a bud I remove it. I chop my chives and sprinkle them over salads, or perhaps a suitable dish and when they flower they go to seed and the stalks get a woody texture.

Next year, barring caterpillar, tropical deluges or some other natural catastrophe, I will grow an herb garden on my deck where I can easily take care of it. I’m so envious of everyone else’s!
