Happy Ending

Pool steps finished and pool and hot tub repaired and cleaned! Thanks Merced. Thanks Reuben. (Good thing I took a flashlight when I went out to begin its inaugural filling last night in the dark. No thanks to Morrie, who had decided to christen the new pool in a manner scatological!!!)

About lifelessons

My blog, which started out to be about overcoming grief, quickly grew into a blog about celebrating life. I post daily: poems, photographs, essays or stories. I've lived in countries all around the globe but have finally come to rest in Mexico, where I've lived since 2001. My books may be found on Amazon in Kindle and print format, my art in local Ajijic galleries. Hope to see you at my blog.

I thought the same, but the curved edging on the side of the pool furnishes one. If I just put a heavy stone sculpture next to the top step, it works just as well and is much more aesthetically pleasing. Duckie wants me to put a sculpture of a man with his hand outstretched to help you up out of the pool. His other arm would be outstretched to hold a towel. That would be fun but pricey.
I’m thinking of a beautiful artsy frog.. not a cutesy one.

That is exquisite, Judy! As for Morrie, how do you not throttle him??? Were he a person, he’d probably look like Brando in “The Wild Ones”!!

And who could throttle Brando? He’d probably throttle us back. He’s just so darn cute that I can’t stay mad. He’s just poorly brought up and it’s not his fault. When he was first here he had a broken leg and had to be kept in confinement so he had to poop on the deck. Now he thinks it is okay to do so and I can’t be there every time he poops to upbraid him and show him the path to permissible pooping.. so do forgive him, Relax!

Oh, fine. šŸ˜‰ There’s a potential book title or two in your response: 1) “Who Could Throttle Brando” and/or 2) “The Path to…” Actually, that one would make another great children’s book!

I don’t. I do aerobic exercises. Perfect for that. When I do laps, they are very short laps and I feel a tremendous sense of accomplishment as the numbers mount up. I have a huge pool a block and a half away that I am a member of if I were so foolish as to choose to swim laps.

It does really improve the looks and functionality of the pool. And the edge of the pool serves as the handhold. I’ll just add one sculpture next to the top step to serve as the last handhold.
